The Bike show at the Markets at Hanover was a blast! It was the first of its kind as the motorcycles were parked and displayed inside the Market. Visitors enjoyed food, music, a silent auction, 50/50 and conversation with two of the biggest fans of Roots for Boots, WWII Veteran, Lawrence “Gumpy” Bolin and Vietnam Veteran, Bill Groft, who brought with them memoirs that consisted of Gumpy’s drawings and paintings and writing and photographs from both. Special thank you to Liz Silbaugh Jonides, Joe Silbaugh and Andy Raymond for assisting in the hosting and planning of the event as well.
Special thank you to Bob Lagore of ABATE who assisted in the planning and execution of the event. Roots for Boots greatly appreciates the support we receive from ABATE. A huge hi-light was when Blaine Gladfelter rolled in with that beautiful Color Guard consisting of roughly 20 bikes adorned with patriotic flags. The crowd was then “wowed” by the singing of our National Anthem by local high school student, Katie Hoster.
Roots for Boots was truly honored and humbled by the act of kindness bestowed on us by the Schnetzka Family and Larry from StickyLee (StickyLee.com) when our logo was placed on this awesome traveling tribute to our servicemen and women. THAT was a proud moment! Veterans from our team signed around the Roots for Boots logo – very touching moment for us all and we are immensely grateful …
In short … it was a beautiful event full of blessings!
